Food Bank

Our food bank is rapidly growing week by week, ever since it opened in late 2020. Due to Covid-19, we started running sandwich making sessions to provide food for local school children and their families. This is when Silver Road Community Centre and their volunteers realised the desperate need for a food bank within the NR3 area. We have now been open for 18+ months.

We are open every Thursday from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm and Saturdays from 11 am to 12:15 pm. We provide lots of food and items to those in need, within our community. Such as, tinned cans, pasta, laundry detergent, toiletries and many more products.

We are an independent food bank, run by volunteers. We hope to help the community and give the residents somewhere to go, when in need.

Community Fridge

Our community fridge is open on Saturdays from 11 am to 12:15 pm, which is the same time as the food bank. The community fridge is open to anyone and everyone.

Every Saturday our volunteers are allowed to pick up lots of unsliced bread and some treats from Bread Source. We are also able to get nearly out of date fruit and vegetables from Food Hub for the people in our community.

Just like the food bank, our community fridge is run by volunteers. These volunteers will be there to provide you with your bread, fruit and vegetables, as well as, support you in any way you may need.

We are very thankful for Food Hub, Bread Source and Morrisons, for supporting us and donating every week to our food bank. As well as these, we are fortunate to have lots of other independent places and people, from our community, donating. We have been able to keep open and running due to these people and places. We also work with Norfolk Community Foundation for grants. Many thanks to Arnold Clark for their support.
